Concept and Task 5

CONCEPT - PARAGRAPH WRITING

What do you understand by 'paragraph'?
A paragraph is a collection of sentences conveying a common idea. We write paragraphs for the purpose of explaining things, ideas, and concepts. The sentences in a paragraph are organized in logical order and coherence in order to make the idea clear and comprehensive. Besides, grammatical correctness, use of right vocabulary and jargon, and writing style are also relevant aspects to work on while writing a paragraph.

While writing a paragraph, make sure you check the following points:
  • Accuracy: The information shared through the paragraph must be correct and accurate.
  • Brevity: Try to use brief and simple sentences making the information comprehensible for readers.
  • Clarity: There should be no grammatical error in terms of wrong use of tense or jargon, vocabulary repetition, and so on.
  • Uniformity: Try to keep uniformity throughout the paragraph. For example, use similar tense marking, keep the idea in mind while explaining it.
  • Style: You should develop your own style of describing ideas and maintain it throughout the write-up.
