CONCEPT - TENSE
What is a tense? What are the basic tenses in English?
Tense is a category for expressing TIME REFERENCE in a language by means of specific forms of verbs. In English, we use THREE basic tenses - Past, Present, and Future.
Past Tense: It indicates an action that happened in the past, relative to the speaker or writer. For example, We visited Cameron Highlands last week.
Present Tense: It indicates an action that happens habitually, everyday, or now, relative to the speaker or writer. For example, I go to guitar class every Saturday.
Future Tense: It indicates an action that will happen in the future, relative to the speaker or writer. For example, She will leave soon.
Further, these basic tenses have sub-tenses. Check the following video for English tenses.

TASK - SING A TENSE
I know the video above went silent all the time. So here's something interesting for you to listen first. Enjoy the video below.

If you have noticed, the lyrics of this wonderful song by Celine Dion is mostly in PAST SIMPLE tense along with other sub-tenses. Now, your task is an interesting one. All you have to do is explore and find out a song with SIMPLE PRESENT tense and its other sub-tenses (the ones you have already learned from the first video of this blog!), identify and list down all the tenses. Good luck!
Happy Learning!
